Vertical and horizontal loads transferred to the ground in reinforced soil walls are carried by the friction force between the ground and the reinforcement strips.

The system is flexible compared to reinforced concrete structures and has versatile areas of use due to the low base pressure values it transfers to the ground. It performs very well in earthquake zones and retaining walls with considerable height.
